The Core Lab building is very high profile for many reasons. This 311,000 sq. ft. building will serve as the international location for collaboration between colleges, universities, pharmacological developers and other tenant companies. These institutions of higher learning and the tenants will be able to utlize cutting edge technologies , state of the art equipment, and scientific research laboratory facilities that otherwise would not be able to afford them. The Murdock Foundation has made the commitment to provide an access point to the most advanced technologies in the world to further improve health and the quality of human life.
The Campus will have a significant impact on the local workforce. It is estimated that there will be in excess of 5,000 research positionsand 30,000 ancillary jobs at the campus.
The Campus sits on 350 acres in the heart of downtown Kannapolis. Since the loss of textiles in 2004, the local economy has suffered. With the development of the campus the entire community will be revitalized.
